the talents of the Roma children of the Divé Maky project at the Mini Bašavel
festival. The opening scene went to the Street element dancers followed by to-be
actors and actresses from Čičava with their drama piece developed during the
Summer Academy under the supervision of Naďa Uherová and Fero Balogh.
After the theatrical performance, GPS, a young Divé Maky band took the stage,
led by Lukáš Goroľ.
Mini Bašavel also hosted a show by Mercim, a dancing group from the Czech
Republic, who won acclaim for their dynamic interpretation of traditional Roma
dances.
In the afternoon, the stage belonged to the Divé Maky kids; their show was
opened by the talented pianist Gerald Radič, currently studying at the Budapest
conservatory. Subsequently the audience watched talented musicians and singers
who performed with great success their interpretations of Johannes Brahms as
well as traditional Roma songs. The show was a success also thanks to the
contribution of Alena Čermáková, a voice teacher and Pavol Bodnár, a jazz
pianist.
The Divé Maky kids show culminated in a breathtaking performance of young
drummers led by the renowned percussionist Eddy Portello who developed a unique
piece with active collaboration of almost all talented Divé Maky kids. The show
