What did the children of Divé maky do over this Christmas? What are their expectations, dreams and plans for the future?
  • Sandra Holubová (photo) said: „We are thankful to Agátka, Juraj, Barborka and Silvia for this beautiful Christmas tree!“
  • For the dancer Zuzka Šimčíková Christmas is the time when the whole family sits down at the table, they have a great time and laugh. “It is the time when I live, breath and feel for the people who love me the most, who make me happy.”
  • The visual artist Martin Berky had a wish fulfilled over this Christmas: “I am looking forward to the summer because my Dad promised me I could participate in the Divé maky Summer Academy. I am thankful to my donor who gave me the scholarship.”
  • “The best experience of this year for me was the Christmas concert in Jarovnice where I performed,” joyfully admitted Filip Abbafy who is planning to attend the “Violin Workshop” contest in near future. He would like to win the best violin player award.
  • A great success for Maroš Fedák was organizing a Romany Ball on the New Year's Eve. He and his band sang and played at this event.
  • The dancer Gerhard Sendrei will also be remembering this holiday season with pride – on January 4 he took part in the City of Žilina December Cup contest and won the 1st prize.
  • The athlete Tomáš Radič also found a success story under his Christmas tree. Just before the holidays he took part in the Slovak Taekwondo Championships and won the 2nd and the 3rd prize.
  • “What is the most important for me is for all of us to be together,” said the visual artist Monika Kováčová. She persuaded her family not to give each other material presents but rather to enjoy love and the feeling of togetherness and mutual support.

For many children the Christmas season was the time when they could finally be with their families. More than a half of them now attend secondary schools and they only see their parents and siblings on weekends. However, they cannot really escape their academic duties because semester finals are coming up. So we are all keeping our fingers crossed!
